Have you ever wondered how to create an animated banner for online advertisement? Below is an example of one I created to advertise a new year promo :
You could use a banner like this to advertise anything, even your blog on other sites. You can also use it to draw attention to pages on your blog. I used Addesigner to create the banner for free. The website provides a variety of designs to choose from.
To create your animated banner, head over to Addesigner and Register for free. Then log in with your email and the password you filled in when registering. Key in your titles, text and other things you want to appear in the banner. Within a few minutes, your banner will be generated and displayed. You can then right click your animated banner to save to your PC. After saving it to your PC, you can then rename it with any name you like.
Once saved to your PC, you can then upload it to your blog/site or send it to your friends to help you put it on their blogs/forums. You can also engage in banner exchange with some blogs and this will surely generate some traffic for you.
If you are using Blogger, don't try to host your animated gif at Blogger, as the image will be static! In order to display your banner properly in your blog, you'll need to host the image elsewhere and link to it using HTML code. Photobucket and Imageshack provide free image hosting if you don't already have a hosting account elsewhere. Upload the banner to any of the free hosting websites and copy the URL of the banner, which will be something like http://www.imagehost.com/yourimage.gif
Don't forget to substitute the address (in RED) with that of your hosted image!
If you want to link this image to your blog, you should also wrap link tags around the image tags like this:
<a href="http://yourblog.blogspot.com"><img src="http://www.imagehost.com/yourimage.gif"/></a>
Don't forget to substitute your own blog address!
I would love to hear about any other free animated banner services, so if you know of any please leave your link (and comments, of course) below.
