If you are banking with sterling bank in Nigeria and making use of the onebank sterling bank mobile app, you will not be able to login to the app after entering wrong password three times. Once it happens, the message below pops up.
Try Again! Three tries with the wrong password, please contact our customer care on 07008220000 to unlock your access for your own safety.
What this simply means, is that you have to contact sterling bank customer care to get it fixed.
It happened to me and I contacted the bank online but I was advised to visit the nearest sterling bank branch.
On getting to the sterling bank branch in Makurdi at Wurukum, I was given a Sterling bank customers update form and sterling bank password reset form to fill.
I was told, I needed to update my email address because the new passcode will be sent to the email address. I filled both forms as required and also included my BVN which was verified with my thumbprint.
Later in the day, I received the new sterling bank password for the one bank app in my email address.
I entered it in the one bank app but still did not work!
I tapped the password reset link on the one bank app and followed the steps, which includes entering sterling bank otp which was sent to my phone, answers to secret questions and my sterling bank app transaction pin.
After entering the required details, I was prompted to enter my new password twice.
I did and it worked!
Thereafter, I was able to login to the sterling bank onebank mobile app to send money and buy airtime.
So, if you are also unable to login to Sterlling bank app, give this a try!
