How to browse Internet with iPad in Nigeria via Wifi and 3G

If you want to connect your iPad to the internet, its either you use a Wi-Fi connectivity or 3G connectivity. All iPad models come with built-in Wi-Fi. If you want to access the Internet in more places, kindly go for iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G and sign up for 3G data service with your Internet service provider.

The fastest way to get your iPad online is via WiFi. Wi-Fi, a high-speed wireless networking connection, can be found in offices,cyber-cafes, hotels, restaurants and other wi-fi hotspots. Some WiFi networks are public and available to anyone. Others are private and password protected. Your iPad can easily detect wi-fi networks in range. To see all the Wi-Fi networks in range: From the Home screen, choose Settings > Wi-Fi. Tap a network to join it.

When iPad is connected to a Wi-Fi network, the Wi-Fi icon in the status bar at the top of the screen shows the connection strength. The more bars you see, the better the connection.

Alternatively, you can connect to the internet via 3G. You will have to activate a 3G data service with your mobile network. Once you have an active data plan on your iPad, you will be able to connect to the internet.
You can tell that iPad is connected to the Internet over a cellular data network if you see , , or in the status bar at the top of the screen.
Right here in Nigeria, I am currently connecting to the Internet with my iPad via Globacom data plans. You can connect your iPad to the internet for as low as N100, which gives you 10MB (24hours validity). More data plans are available. Click here for the Globacom data plans for Mobile phones/tablets.
To connect via Globacom, you must first get the Globacom micro SIM card from the nearby Gloworld Office. The micro SIM card is smaller than the normal SIM card. After buying the SIM card, get it registered according to NCC guideline. Once the SIM has been activated, you can insert it inside a mobile phone and get it recharged with any amount you want. Thereafter, subscribe to the data plan you want and after receiving confirmation about your subscription, you can remove the micro SIM card from your phone.
Insert the micro SIM card back into your iPad and wait for the 3G or E sign to show on your screen ( this might take up to 24 hours or less) . Once displayed, you can start enjoying the internet on your iPad.
I hope this info helps…
