Today at BloggerLab, Akinbode Deji, shared a free report on how to shop securely from USA as a Nigerian. He decided to compile the report after several members of the group, including me asked him how he was able to buy his Apple Mac Pro at Ebay.com and received it here in Nigeria.
In the free report, he explained how a Nigerian can buy things online from the United States through popular shopping websites like www.ebay.com, www.amazon.com, www.buy.com etc and get the items delivered using the services of www.myus.com . In this post, I am sharing with you a summary of the free report.
You will need a paypal account to shop at www.ebay.com but if you do not have a paypal account, you can shop at www.amazon.com with your Prepaid Visa card issued at most Nigerian banks. As at the time of publishing this post, Zenith Bank Prepaid Visa Card works fine with Amazon.com. You can read how to get the Zenith Visa Prepaid Bux Card here.
At MyUS.com, you can get a U.S address which you can be using at any shopping site that only delivers to the USA. Once you register at the site, you get your own unique suite number which makes your US address different from that of another person using MyUs.com. So, anytime you shop online and use the US address, your items will be shipped to the address and MyUS.com will receive them for you.
When your items arrive at your U.S address, www.myus.com will contact you via email that you have a package delivered to your U.S address. They will calculate the shipping cost to your door step in Nigeria and deduct the amount from the credit card you used when you opened your MYUS.com account. After then you don’t have to pay a dime to collect your items in Nigeria.
If there is adequate fund in the credit card on your MyUS.com account, they will ship the item immediately to Nigeria, but if the fund in your credit card cannot cover the shipping cost, they will notify you so that you can fund your credit card or use another credit card. Once they ship your items, you will be provided with the tracking number which you will use in tracking your shipment till they get delivered to your doorstep.
Note: You will have to pay $10 to get the US address at MyUS.com.
