If you have an internet-ready device, be it Blackberry, Nokia, iPhone, iPad, java phone, Android device etc, you can connect it to the internet with MTN Nigeria SIM card provided there is at least, MTN gprs coverage in your location.
If you are at a location with MTN data coverage, you might still be unable to browse with your internet-ready device, if your device is not configured with the correct MTN gprs settings, even after you might have subscribed to an MTN data bundle.
So, What are the MTN Internet Settings?
MTN APN (Access Point Name) = web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net
MTN Username = web
MTN Password = web
Irrespective of the device you are using, if you configure it with the settings above, you should be able to browse the internet with your MTN line.
How Can I Get MTN Internet Settings On My Phone?
Text “settings” to 3888 with your MTN SIM card.
The MTN Nigeria Internet and MMS settings will be pushed to your phone. Save the settings and you are good to go.
What If My Device Does Not Support Automatic Set Up of Mobile Internet?
That means you will have to configure mobile internet on the device manually. The way you will configure a Nokia phone with MTN internet settings is not the same way you will go about it on an Apple iPad. It all depends on your device.
I will not be able to explain how to manually configure thousands of mobile devices out there in this post but all you need to get any device connected to the internet with MTN Nigeria are the settings above.
Note: The settings above are not needed for Blackberry Internet Service, though you might need the settings to get some apps to work. You will also need the settings if you want to use your Blackberry to share your internet connection.

Thanks alot Mr Jide but where can I enter these settings on my BB? I have some apps that do not open with my BIS.
From your BB, go to Options => Device ==> Advanced System Settings and click TCP/IP.
Tick the "APN Settings Enabled" box and enter the settings appropriately.
Note: The direction above might not be the same on your BB. This is for Curve 7 with iOS 7(BB Curve 9320).

I have this kind of problem with my window mobile phone. I configured it manually. It will connect but wouldn't open the page only to complain about DNS
THANK U so much for this. After 5 calls to mtn customer services today and still without a solution, this has just saved me a trip to mtn tomorrow.
It is such a shame that the people on the other end of the phone are not trained to give such simple resolutions that doesn't involve every customer with going into walk in centres.
